The journey of hope

Threads of Hope is a social enterprise founded in 2019 and
located in the heart of downtown Cairo. 

Our primary goal is to provide sustainable work with a
holistic approach to marginalized Egyptian women, migrants and
refugees. 

Our mission

Threads of Hope Cairo aims to address the diverse needs and challenges facing marginalized women and empower them to become self-reliant and economically independent

The women are trained in one of the six fine techniques: embroidery, cross-stitch, corded work, ajour, hand painting and natural dye. We aim to produce hand embroidery of the utmost quality to clients in the fashion and textile industry.

our approach

It is crucial to address the holistic well-being of the participants. Threads of Hope Cairo incorporate life skills training, including communication skills, problem-solving, resilience building, and self-care. Workshops on mental health, stress management, and emotional well-being are also included to support the overall growth and resilience of the participants.

HOW IT WORKS?

Our operations can be divided in three phases: recruiting, training, and sales.

Recruiting

Underprivileged women are recruited through various channels (e.g., word of mouth, social media, international organizations).

Training

After recruitment, women participate in a tuition free, two month session, where
they are trained in small groups.

Sales

Through digital media platforms we promote Threads of
Hope products to sell directly to consumers.
