Frequently Asked Question

Threads of Hope Cairo is a for-profit social enterprise founded in 2018 by Malaika. It is dedicated to providing sustainable work opportunities for marginalized women, both local and refugees, in Cairo, Egypt.

The primary goal is to produce sustainable employment for marginalized women by offering training programs in embroidery and related techniques. The organization aims to empower women to become self-reliant and economically independent.

Threads of Hope Cairo achieves its mission through a three-phase approach: recruiting underprivileged women, providing them with tuition-free training in various fine techniques, and promoting and selling the handcrafted products through digital media platforms.

Women are trained in five fine techniques, including embroidery, cross-stitch, corded work, and natural dyes, with the aim of producing high-quality hand embroidery for clients in the fashion and textile industry.

You can support the cause by donating to the TOH Journey Fund. Contributions go towards training underprivileged women for two months, covering expenses like transportation, healthy meals, training, and lectures.

Approximately 8000 Egyptian pounds (around $260) are needed to train one woman for 2 months, 5 hours a day. This includes various expenses to ensure a comprehensive training experience.

You can make a secure donation through the Threads of Hope Cairo website. For sponsorship opportunities or tailored partnerships, contact the dedicated team for further discussions.
